What Lies Beneath

The United States Of America is certainly quite the character. Songs ringing with promises of freedom and liberty but I’ve been sent here so that I can spill the tea! You’d get more truth if you watched shows like Power on cable. The pursuit of happiness and equality is nothing more than a fable.

This country is filled to the brim with hatred. Racism and discrimination is what they hold sacred. Black life does not matter, not yours, not mine….voices silenced, life extinguished, swinging from tree vines!

Segregating schools by neighborhoods and policy, hold up, wait a minute…where is the democracy? Brown v. The Board Of Ed only covered the south, while the north they took a different route. Down there our brothers and sisters were under attack but right here, right before our very eyes, there was even more push back!

Progress in this country creeps slower than a snail. Protest and boycotts for change only unveil, the level of contempt, it never seems to fail. Disenfranchised slaves, put up for sale. Gentrification is a rinsing out of color to make things more “pure”. Loopholes and backdoor deals have hatred at their core. Systematic racism continues to endure!

“45” wants to build a wall to make America “great again”. A place devoid of morals and values, sin deep within, can’t even comprehend….can never be an example of great…truth be told my friend. Brothers and Sisters, we’ve been sleep for way too long. Time to band together and be strong. Towards total annihilation they do creep. It’s time to look under that rock to see what lies beneath!
