Understanding the Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump

President Donald Trump has once again, blazed the pages of our history books by being the third president to be impeached. His ruthlessness, arrogance and abuse of power has finally caught up with him, leaving a nasty stain on his record. He has been impeached. Like me, it seems most of America has misunderstood and been confused by this long, drawn out process. If I may, let me break down the sequence of events that have taken place; starting with the reason why he was brought to trial.

  • Trump was exposed by a whistle blower: a person from within his administration that had knowledge and evidence of his abuse of power.
  • On July 25, 2019 Trump petitioned a foreign government, the president of Ukraine, to investigate his political opponent Joe Biden. In attempts to once again, offset an election in his favor.
  • In his efforts to conclude with a foreign government, he offered a bribe or quid pro quo. He was willing to give up 400 million of the Nation’s money in return for their services. In doing this, he has threatened our national security by negotiating to fund wars that are not ours, in favor of his political agenda.
  • Obstruction of justice: Refusing to cooperate with congress and asking other government officials to do the same.

For these reasons he was found guilty of corruption and conclusion, and impeached by the House of Representatives. The House is mostly ran by Democrats, not a single republican voted for the impeachment, and additional evidence was withheld. This impeachment has now passed to the Senate, which is largely composed of Republicans, this means it will most likely be overturned by them. Trump will remain in office and eligible to run for re-election in 2020.

The trial will begin in January. President Trump proclaims his innocence, but has fumbled and ranted with arrogance during this whole event, smugly because he knows the Republicans are his minions.

Black republican Julian Boykin has stated in support of Trump, “This is a sham, a waste of time and tax payers’ dollars.”

As quiet as its kept, many people of color are supporting and voting for this racist president, who demeans Blacks, Mexicans, the handicapped, women, the LGBT community and freedom of speech. This loyalty is held in honor of the growing economy and money.

“They are intellectually crippled,” as stated by attorney and activist Pam Keith.

This is not a witch hunt, but the pursuit of justice.

“They wanted to impeach President Barak Obama, but he gave no justification for doing so. He was as hated as Trump by white America and the Republicans,” Passionately stated by Erica Savage Wilson, director of a democratic outreach program.

These statements were all made by people of influence, intelligence and color. The primary goal of the impeachment was to hold the current president accountable for his less than honorable actions and abuse of power. Regardless the outcome of the impending trial, that goal was accomplished.

This action of impeachment has shown nobody is above the law, including the president. As citizens of this country we must keep up with what’s going in our nation, our state and our city. It will eventually trickle down and affect us all. Knowledge is power. You cannot make an informed choice if you don’t know the candidates. It’s the same as being blindly lead to your on slaughter. You cannot be prepared for something, if you don’t see it coming.
