Radical Self-care, Self-love

Self-care and self-love are vital to our health. Self-care is any necessary human regulatory function which is under individual control, deliberate and self-initiated.

Some place self-care on a continuum with health care providers at the opposite end to self-care. In modern medicine, preventive medicine aligns most closely with self-care.

Examples of self-care include:

  • Aim for a healthy diet.

  • Make time for relaxation.

  • Keep a reflective journal.

  • Engage with a non-work hobby.

  • Develop a regular sleep routine.

  • Develop friendships that are supportive.
