It was funny in movies but now it’s serious,

More than just a phase.

Everywhere you look television, movies, the streets even in books,

Lives taken a true epidemic.

I know it’s ashamed started out as a phrase bust became true,

Now my brothers and sisters in prisons adding up endless days.

It’s a pity the inner city born to live gritty putting money and minutes on the phone,

In the ghetto better known as hood it’s systemic.

From Biblical times of Abel and Cain to now hustling and killing for the fortune and fame,

Every life taken I know your pain.
