Poetry Corner: Idols Become Rivals

We supported you like our friends

Telling us stories feeding us false hope

We become overrun with broke amends

Just left with a new law passing opiates to help us cope.

The picture you paint a deliberate illusion

We gave you the seat to set us free

Tell us have patience it’s just confusion

It’s nothing new only the conscious can see.

Portrayed assertive with a we mind frame

Lead us astray you black sheep

Spineless beast you were easy to tame

Now a-days for money and so very cheap

Politicians you were once soldiers, but you left us behind John McCain.
