Poetry corner: HBCU We’ll Miss You

Over time we lost sight of you,

The only collegiate institutions for us since the beginning.

Often overlooked because not deemed good enough,

Because of self hatred,

We truly have no clue.

In a society we need education and self sustainable culture,

But we only know the value of a dollar,

Which created our self inflicted demolition.

We need to get back to black,

We need to give back to Black,

And promote our historically Black before we’re all left blue.
