Exclusive Interview: Former NBA Player, Olden Polynice, Chats On Beating the Odds Placed Against Him

/

The phrase, “You can do anything that you set your mind to” always has stood true to the test of time especially for former NBA player Olden Polynice. Polynice was diagnosed with a disability that doctors stated would prevent him from ever walking. He defeated what the doctors had said and not only began to walk, but he had a successful 17-year basketball career, which included 15 years in the NBA and 2 years playing internationally.

In addition to his professional athletic venture, he now gives back and supports others who also have a disability. Polynice serves as the ambassador for 31, an annual awareness campaign which takes place each October during National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many contributions Americans with disabilities have made to the workforce.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Olden where he chatted on his NBA career, his community endeavors, and what life was like for him growing up. Listen to the interview above.
