Our bad days have no comparison to the tragic lives of those enslaved in the growing human trafficking trade. We take our freedom for granted, live our lives in complacency and complaint. Zombified following the masses and unbridled selfish desires.
Some choose the prostitution life, others are forced into sexual enslavement without a choice. It’s not only occurring on the outside of America, this is new age global slave trade.
Women and girls of all ethnicities are being kidnapped, trapped, drugged and sold to the highest bidder. Their bodies or lives are no longer their own, the movies are real.
I live in the small state of Mississippi and there is reported human trafficking here. Human trafficking affects 12 to 27 million men, women and children worldwide. It is defined as recruiting or harboring a person for labor or commercial sex acts through force or fraud.
The poor, weak, disadvantaged or naive make the perfect victim. I was shocked to see human value is top dollar, but human morality is at an all time low. Victims of this crime have tell signs: lack of identification as in legal documents to identify who they are, lack of control of their own money, signs of physical abuse, unusual fearfulness, unwillingness to communicate, lack of food, sleep or proper care. It’s common for them to be underage.
This can happen to anyone, including you or your children. The world is not safe, America is not the safe haven they would have us to believe. We as a people must begin again to value our lives and the lives of others, be observant and cautious. We must take a stand for what is right and stand against what is wrong. This is a crime not reported daily on the news, yet it happens every day.
