For those who have always dreamed of Africa or at least want to have the chance to experience it, can feel like they have after hearing the musical sounds from the Contemporary Christian recording artist Izik 5.
Izik 5 is originally from Nigeria and have been booking performances through out the Los Angeles area. They are a family group consisted of brothers and sisters: Temgu, Timothy “Mas T,” Sarah, Naomi and Jerry “Daddy J” Ornguze. They were inspired by their father, Isaac, and the discovery that they each had musical talent at an early age, prompted the siblings to start a group.
Izik 5 have accomplished several things in the music industry. Their first single from their album, “I Can See Clearly,” was number one in Africa; they were the only African music group invited to attend the 2010 GMA Music Training event entitled, “Immerse” in Nashville, Tennessee; they were the only Christian Music group from Africa to attend the 2011 GMA Dove Awards in Atlanta, Georgia; and they were the only group from Africa to perform at the 2011 Taste of Soul in Los Angeles. They also performed at the 2011 Black Music and Arts Festival in Los Angeles. Izik 5 were the only International act that played at the 2011 Light at the Light House music concert in San Pedro, California. Izik 5 is now signed to recording label American Label Tate MusicGroup.
The group’s future plans is to continue to spread the love of God through music, tour the world, help the poor in Africa by building water wells, win a Grammy and Dove award and the release of their second album is due this summer.
Izik 5 encourages those who are striving to get into the music industry to, “Have faith in God, believe in yourself, work hard and success will come in God’s time.”
