ECO 101: Going Green, Quick Tips

1. Recycle

This includes paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass.

2. Buy Recycled Products

Many products today are being made with recycled material. Most companies print on their packaging if they used recycled material.

3.Unplug Electronics When Not In Use

Electricity is still consumed even when it is not in use. Easy electronics such as cell phone chargers can reduce your energy bill if unplugged.

4. Reduce

Turn off the water while brushing your teeth. Shorten your shower to conserve water. Buy a filter for your faucet rather than buying bottled water. Turn off lights when you are not in a room. Reduce the amount of electricity you use throughout the day. Carpool to save on gas.

5. Buy Energy Saving Light bulbs

Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs save energy and last longer.

6. Look for Energy Star Labels

Many appliances such as washers and dryers are energy efficient.

7. Clean Green

Use natural products such as white vinegar, oil, salt, and water.

8. Go Organic

Using natural products such as soaps and beauty products can help the earth as well as your body.

9. Dispose of Hazardous Waste Properly

Hazardous Waste contains toxic materials and can pollute the earth.

10. Share
