Naomi K. Bonman

Naomi K. Bonman is an entertainment and community journalist based out of Southern California. She has been in the field for 11+ years. She has had the pleasure of interviewing big names, such as Kelly Rowland, Chante Moore, Sway Calloway, just name to name a few. She was recognized by the California State Assembly for her work as a News Reporter. Bonman holds her Bachelors of Arts in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Journalism from Clark Atlanta University, as well as her Masters in Public Administration. She is the founder of Purposely Awakened (www.purposelyawakened.com) and she is also a screenwriter, author, and youth advocate.

Christy Angelette is part of the Generation X generation. She is a mother of three amazing sons and is a southern Queen born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. Currently she is living and healing in the same place. She has had a love for reading since the age of six. As a teen, she began writing poems as an expression of feelings that followed abuse, depression and love. She is living with a diagnosis of bipolar and PTSD and is a survivor of childhood abuse, trauma and spousal abuse. She has worked as a LPN nurse for 12 years. She is also a lover of Christ and believes that “unbalanced” is the First of a trilogy. She is working on a novel that will highlight mental illness and abuse in multiple forms, as well as civil rights being broken on a mental health level. She is living proof that you can overcome and live a mentally “BALANCED” life. She triumphs through her Faith and her fight for life.

C.K. McGhee

C.K. McGhee, is a socially conscious individual concerned with issues of racial and social injustice, currently plaguing people of color, specifically; those within the African American community. She is also an advocate for mental health awareness; interested in the de-stigmatization of mental illness. Her goal is to create an atmosphere where people who are battling mental illness, will find the courage to seek proper medical attention and support, so that they can live their best lives. Her catch phrase, "Here's to brighter days", ends each of her posts, signaling her optimism that there will in fact, be brighter days ahead for those shamed into silence by the stigma of mental illness.

Samantha Pounds

Samantha Pounds is an Indianapolis native who enjoys covering news stories on a variety of topics including politics, music and entertainment. Samantha got her start in journalism while in high school where she served as the Editor-In-Chief of her school’s newspaper and also served the same position while working for college newspaper. Samantha graduated from Vincennes and Indiana State University where she received her A.S. in journalism and B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in marketing. When Samantha is not busy writing, she enjoys a career in Public Relations. She also recently published a book Love Falls on Deaf Ears and Hears Clearly in which the book chronicles her ups and downs in the dating field until she met her soul mate—a man who is deaf.
