Christian rap artist, Jac Rip, also known as Darnell Jackson Jr., has been inspiring others to live out their dreams. He has started ‘The Dream is Real Tour’ to let others know that dreams do come true. He has been in the music industry for over a decade and has been blessed to have worked with some of the best in the industry. He has also rededicated his life to Christ, and since then new doors of opportunities have been opening for him, which has allowed him to travel. Jac Rip is now giving back to his community through music.
“Don’t always expect God to bless you without you blessing others first,” Jac Rip states.
Jac Rip was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and now resides in Atlanta, Georgia. His story begins like many others and is composed of the battle of temptation an struggle of surviving in the inner city. However, he did not sell drugs to make it out of his environment. Instead, his pen became his religion, his muse, his salvation and his first album, fittingly titled The Diary, the obvious and compelling writ of a soul saved by music. He has been able to touch and reach souls through his music, and that is what he wants to continue to do through the ‘The Dream is Real Tour’.
“The Dream is Real Tour’ was a vision given to me by God,” Jac Rip states.
This is the first year that he has done the tour and so far he is very pleased with the response and turn out of the tour. The purpose of the tour is to inspire people to keep going after their dreams no matter what circumstances may come up or where you are in life.
Jac Rip states, “God gives everyone a purpose, and I want to show people how to go after that ‘purpose.”
In addition to changing the lives of others, Jac Rip also hopes that the tour changes people’s perspective of the fact that Christian Hip-hop is for the youth. Hip-hop has been around for over 40 years, and ‘The Dream is Real Tour’ wants to reach people of all ages from all walks of life.
“This tour will be an outreach, to the unreachable, to those who feel forgotten, who might have lost hope, and to mothers that everyone has given up on. Our mission is to not only take this tour to various churches across the nation, but to go outside the four walls, to inspire encourage and motivate people to find their purpose, and to follow their dreams. Dreamers come from all walks of life, whether it’s church, prisons, shelters, rehab centers, detention facilities, homeless shelters or anywhere else. Their dreams are real! And on this tour, we will go throughout all these locations with hope and inspiration that giving up is not an option.”
The tour consists of Jac Rip and two other rappers, Mr. Knox and Word Spreader. DJ Mercy is also featured on the tour. Each of these individuals are inspirational and have a passion for uplifting others.
“Everyone that is involved on this tour and giving back to the community is an example of a dreamer. We all know that dreams are real; we put God first and pushed past personal mistakes, doubt, fear, negativity, and haters.”
For artist who would love to join the tour, you may visit the website and see when the tour will be coming to your city. It is asked that each artist who wants to participate has good quality music, a heart for outreach and an open mind for promoting their name, because this the first year of the tour there is a budget, but eventually Jac Rip stated that he would like to make it a self-funded tour.
